Can snakes grow their head back?

Well the reason why i am asking this is because we had baby birds in our propane tank and one day a snake about four feet long got in there and my dad killed it and put it in the sewer but the next day we checked the tank and another snake that looked identical to the other one got in their and it was weird because the first one was also gone from the sewer. So we were sad because the second one ate all the baby birds!
